FOB Tustin (Formally Fresh Off The Boat Fish Grill)

This is our go to place for a family meal. They have good pricing and plenty of parking. They have weekly and now monthly specials as well. The person's are generous and the pricing is good. Be aware that they did change up their menu though.

Recently had my first visit here and I think it's a new favorite! Staff was lovely and helpful. I got the salmon bowl with cauli rice and my partner got the carnitas bowl. Portions were plentiful and the food was fresh, we really enjoyed it. My partner's one critique is the carnitas were a little too sweet for his personal taste but he still happily ate. As a type 1 diabetic, I really appreciated the cauli rice substitution. There aren't many places that offer it, it's great to have the option to eat out and keep my blood sugar stable. Will definitely return!

This place is awesome and always very prompt with the to-go orders I place online. I like is the Baja fish bowls, they're very delicious and also taste fresh and feel clean & healthy after eating it because there's not a ton of junk ingredients. The best part is that if you are trying to get your protein up, they are one of the best $ to gram of high quality protein around. You just have to order the right "add-ons" and they over serve, so you end up with a 80-100g of protein lunch for the same ~$20 you would spend anywhere.

A Hidden Gem! We were in town for a sports event and looked up local restaurant reviews—so glad we found this place! Fresh Off the Boat not only uses high-quality ingredients but also prepares them in unique and flavorful ways, offering a diverse menu with something for everyone. I had the barramundi plate with veracruzano sauce, which had just the right kick, plus a side of garlic sauce—delicious! The grilled veggies were perfectly seasoned, and the salad with lemon oregano dressing was fresh and vibrant. My husband enjoyed the Cajun seafood tortilla soup, tossing in some of my rice for extra heartiness. My son devoured three fish tacos, and they shared an order of fried calamari and hummus with pita—all of it fantastic. Beyond the great food, the service was exceptional. The staff answered all my (many!) questions and accommodated substitutions to fit my keto dietary needs. A man who seemed to be the owner was actively helping his team and personally checked in with every table, ensuring everyone had a great experience. To top it all off, the pricing was very reasonable, making this spot an even better find. Highly recommend Fresh Off the Boat in Tustin—we’ll definitely be back!

So overall I liked it, but gf and other family didn't like it as much as I did. I was really hungry when I showed up, so I ordered 2 meals. I really enjoyed the Mahi Mahi but the portion size of Mahi Mahi seemed a bit small a little over cooked compared to California fish grill. The guac and chips were great, along with the salsa. If you're looking to take a big party this might not be the place for you. 4-6 people would probably a comfortable amount to sit with as the place could get busy. We went on Sunday in the evening and we found a spot to sit down right away. I enjoyed the fact that they played Sunday night football on the screens. The cashiers/servers were all very nice. From what I understand this restaurant catches their fish same day and cooks it's same day if I'm not mistaken. For $67.00 (no military discounts), I would consider the pricing fair for 3 meals and a Michelada. I would like people to try this place out and let me know what they think. Enjoy!!!

Great casual spot with a variety of food options making it a great choice for large groups. A wonderful fusion of Mediterranean and Latin dishes makes it easy for everyone to find something they like. Plenty of seafood options that are fresh and prepared to perfection. Portions are large and prices are reasonable. Will be coming back and trying more of the variety on the menu

Just found this place and loved it! Tried both Salmon and Cod plates and they were delicious! The garlic sauce was special, the fish was fresh and not over-cooked. A good value for the fish plate with rice, salad and grilled veggies. Also ordered the Baklava, it was slightly too sweet for me but I liked the crispy texture. Will definitely come back! Outdoor seating is a plus as well for taking our dog!
